Madonna fans are getting something better than chocolates or roses for Valentine’s Day this year: the promise of new music.

On Instagram Thursday (Feb. 13) — just one day before the day of love — the superstar shared a video slideshow of photos showing off her recent time in the studio. In some pictures, she records vocals into a microphone; in others, she sits behind a drum set. Some snaps also find producer Stuart Price hard at work as well, while a few photos show Madge’s kids visiting their mom on the job.

“My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music,” the seven-time Grammy winner wrote in her caption. “I can’t wait to share it with you!!”

She also once again teased that the project she’s working on is a “Confessions Part 2,” aka a followup to her Billboard 200-topping 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor. The post comes about two months after Madonna revealed that she was back in the studio with Price, who worked on the first Confessions. “Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025!”

In December, she also shared a photo with Price on X and teased, “Confessions on a Dancefloor part 2 ?”

But while she’s demonstrated her focus on making new music this year, the Queen of Pop is also working on another one of her passions in 2025: comedy. In January, Madonna made a surprise appearance with Amy Schumer at the Comedy Cellar in New York City, delivering her own original material for the venue’s small audience.

The performer is also in the midst of developing a biopic about her own life and career.
