Carl Cox will no longer appear at Movement 2025. A statement posted to the techno producer’s Instagram Story on Thursday (Feb. 20) reads, “I regret to inform you that due to scheduling complications, my show at Movement has been postponed to 2026. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I promise to make it worth the wait. When I return, I’ll bring my full live show experience, and it’s going to be epic!”
Cox was originally announced as part of the Movement 2025 lineup in December, and was scheduled to bring his Hybrid Live Set to the longstanding Detroit electronic festival.
His place will be filled by techno legend Jeff Mills, who in a statement said, “To be able to play in Detroit is and has always been a special kind of magic. It’s one of the few places in the World where anything could happen because of a higher premium of music ‘sense’ most people have. And it’s constantly being handed down from one generation to the next. Detroit is the place that understands the power of music and the value of a soulful and moving experience. Much appreciation goes to the persistent focus of the entire Movement Festival team. I look forward to seeing you all in the ‘D’.”
Happening at Detroit’s Hart Plaza on May 24-26, Movement 2025 will also feature artists including Charlotte de Witte, Jamie xx, Sara Landry, John Summit, Kevin Saunderson, A$AP Ferg, Mau P, Nina Kraviz, HAAi, Boys Noize, The Blessed Madonna, Goldie b2b Photek and many more.
